OUR MISSION
"Connecting People, Bridging Cultures"
OUR VISION
"Defining Trends and Emerging Leaders"
Our VALUES
"Respecting Diversity, Highlighting Prosperity, Embracing Latino Culture"
OUR HISTORY: DTM was born on the fateful day of September 11, 2001, as the Dominican Times Magazine with the mission of celebrating Hispanic culture and its role in shaping the American experience. True to the responsibility of being born on such a tragic day, we have always sought to be more than an entertainment vehicle and remain dedicated to providing leadership in the community. This sense of responsibility has lead to our sponsorship of various community based events to celebrate and uplift the Hispanic community. Early events such as the "Scholarship Gala", where we honored community leaders and presented student winners of our essay contest with scholarships, have grown into the "Latino Trendsetters Awards", where in 2006 we honored more than twenty Latino and one non-Latino, from corporate giants such as Aetna, DirectTV, Fannie Mae, Pepsi-co, and Univision and from the areas of arts and entertainment, business, community service, fashion, law, medicine, etc., for their leadership and accomplishments in adding to the advancement of Hispanic culture.
As one of the only bi-lingual publications in the U.S., we have always been a leader in recognizing, honoring and serving the diversity that is the Hispanic community. With this in mind, we in 2004, transitioned to the acronym DTM, to further connect with the Hispanic community. |
